Every student learns differently. I have explored the many ways to teach so that children can learn. From previous teaching experience I am aware that some children are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners. I teach based on the individual learning style. I have an MBA in Marketing. I have a BA degree in Science Business Communications. I have helped children and adults with their assignments. I work mainly with Kinder through 10th grade. I help with writing, Reading, Touch Typing, Math and Science. I have helped with Marketing papers and other college assignments as needed.

My teaching style varies depending on the student. Once I meet with the student and assess how he/she learns best, I tailor my teaching style to best meet his/her needs. Each student learns differently, and as a private tutor, I am able to meet his/her specific needs. I am a certified teacher in the state of Texas and have taught a variety of elementary grades over the past six years. Prior to this, I was a tutor for elementary students for five years. Teaching is a passion of mine, as I strive to bring learning to life. I believe it is important for students to fully understand material and master the concepts as their elementary education is the foundation for their success in their future education.

While working on my Bachelor's Degree at A&M I tutored students in various fields such as Immunology, Medical Microbiology, Bacterial Physiology and Genetics, Ancient Greek, and Clarinet. I also have teaching experience from my time as an assistant instructor at a martial arts school where I aided and held classes in Youth and Adult Brazilian JiuJitsu, Karate and Krav Maga. I find that talking and reasoning through a problem or situation is the best way to commit information to long term memory. I do this by drawing pictures/maps/diagrams, posing related questions, and drawing on current knowledge to create more connections to what is being studied.

I have taught reading in both the public school and as a tutor. I believe reading should be taught with both phonics and sight. Unfortunately, schools today usually only teach one or the other. Which is why, I believe, so many of our children can'y read noe days. I begin with phonics, and with time teach the student easy sight words to memorize, add more difficult ones as we move along and before you know it the student is reading like a pro. This has worked on my students for 30 some years. 3 years experience as an educator in the Copperas Cove Independent School District. 2 years experience working independently as a tutor in all core courses with grades pre-K through 6th grade.
