I utilize reading and instructing out loud to the class, writing on the board for further and clearer instructions and information, using real life ideas and situations to help explain the lesson (ex. of using microwave and cooking to help explain temperature and gave reminders at the end of class for work completion, assignments and expectations. My tutoring began while I was studying at Montana State University. My Junior year I enrolled in a class that was based around community service and my role was tutoring middle school aged children. The tutoring was in a small group setting and was on any subject the children needed help in but mainly in reading comprehension. After college, I attended Via Lingua where I became certified to teach ESL. It was here that my tutor experience expanded.
