My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : Business computing class.

I have helped tutor AVID high school students when I was a senior at Cherry Creek High School. I enjoy helping the kids learn and believe that being a tutor would pay it forward since I had so much help from tutors. I always helped my friends out because I was in higher level classes than them some of the times. I also worked with tutors and know how much of a difference they can make. I'm currently studying at CSU and still work with friends on homework if they need help.
I believe in success. There is no guarantee someone will learn on the first try. It's all about enjoying the learning experience and positive reinforcement. I also believe in humor and think that it can help a lot in peoples difficult situations.

My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : I have been using and teaching Microsoft Excel for twenty years.

I am extremely patient and clear. In my mind, there is no such thing as someone who cannot learn; it is my job to adjust my teaching style for multiple learning styles. Because I also have experience working with special needs clients as well as clients in rehabilitation, I am especially capable of dealing with more challenging learning situations. Teaching children takes patience and creativity. Each child is different in their attention span and interests. Making each subject important and interesting is one place to start. It is crucial to never let a child give up, and not to give up on them yourself. My goal in teaching is to determine which way the child learns, for example a visual learning may need to draw out spelling words, where an audible learner needs to recite them.
