A Little Bit About Me...

I am a college student at Coastal Carolina University. Willing to help anyone that needs tutoring. I am a junior studying Biological Chemistry. I am knowledgeable in many different fields besides science. Every subject I've listed I can teach to anyone willing to learn. I am a local from the area so I have a good understanding of the curriculum in the Horry county school system. I am able to teach any (k-12) material.
My teaching style is different for every person. I have to asses each individual student find out what their strong and weak points are before they can fully benefit from my tutor sessions. I am easy going, friendly, and honest. My only goal is to teach the material so the student will fully understand, remember, and enjoy what he/she is learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

I started my college education in a community college, where i met many struggling students trying to improve their career opportunities. As a peer tutor at that school and in the jobs i have held since, I have developed a appreciation for the satisfaction that comes from assisting people with their coursework. I have an AAS and BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, a minor in physics and two years of experience as a formal tutor. I have tutored students in mathematics and the sciences as well as English and composition skills.
Most of the struggling students i have encountered seem to have a low confidence in themselves that interferes with their studies. A Little Bit About Me...

I make a point to have fun with my students, and my teaching style relies heavily upon real world examples that my students can both relate to and enjoy. I stand firmly against simply giving my students answers, but rather employ a strategy of leading my students to discovering their own answers. I find that this not only boosts my students' confidence in their subject, but also gives them the tools to succeed in the classroom during tests or quizzes, where I will not be around to help. I have taught mathematics for over 23 years. In Ohio I taught at a middle school for 2 years and then at an all boys high school for 17 years. At the high school I was the math tutor and worked with the students in all areas of mathematics from prealgebra to calculus. Curently I am teaching at Wallace Rosehill High School in North Carolina. I have been there for five years and teach algebra and precalculus.

I tutored students in various grades, mostly in mathematics, but also in science and social studies. I also tutored in physics and helped students understand the relationships between science and mathematics.
I have a love of working with especially young children. I feel that children want to learn. I believe that children will learn through immersion in music and mass media. I also would teach a child to learn the step by step basics of mathematics and use each example in a realistic setting.
