I work at the Boys and Girls Club where I am the poetry teacher. I haver also been tutoring for 5 years and I am great with kids. I tutor in many subjects but my strongest subject is English and Literature. I also tutor any grade level. I enjoy helping kids learn and understand their material better. I hold an MA in Education and Counseling, a BA in Socialpsychology and an AA in Early Childhood Education. and two teaching credentials - k-8 and adult. I am a credentialed teacher and for the past three years I have taught grades k-12. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a certified teacher in the state of Texas. I have, for the past ten years, been tutoring and teaching Latin and English/Language Arts. I taught high school for two years in Pennsylvania, and for the last two years, I have taught Latin and English here in Texas. I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Classics and a minor in English. I was an honors student in Classics, and I was chosen to be the departmental tutor in Greek. In addition to maintaining more than full time hours as a student, I tutored students in Latin independently for free. As a engineer I have been training operators in everything form SPC to troubleshooting for 30 years. I am a volunteer tutor for Adult ESL & GED for the Literacy Council of Williamson County since June 2009.
I have worked with adults. I prefer a one on one direct instruction and mentoring, keeping everything simple and fun. I am not sure how well I would be with children; I have none of my own and have not spent much time with my nephews and nieces. I have worked with a few of my friends children, helping them understand algebra, showing them how simple it really is and how it can be fun.
