Over the past twelve years I have taught a range of subjects including basic Math and English to students with a range of learning difficulties, including dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism. During the past two academic years I have tutored Math and Biology at a local private high school and have really enjoyed the experience. I have over 10 year experience tutoring Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus and S.A.T. Math. I also have classroom teaching experience of international students with widely varying educational and cultural backgrounds.
My goal is to to break the cycle of rote learning and show my students how a lesson can be applied to real-world knowledge. Understanding "why" helps students enjoy math or, at the very least, dislike it less. I believe Math is just like sports, music or dance: you need to practice to be proficient.
