While attending BYU I worked in the student advisement center part-time, mentoring and helping students develop their schedules, and tutored them in subject matter from courses I'd already completed. I served as a volunteer representative for the LDS church for two years in Denmark and Iceland. I speak fluent Danish and Norwegian, and I taught extensively on many topics to all age groups while over there. If a student has a thorough knowledge of the basics, then he does not need to rely on root memorization or luck to pass classes. I believe teaching and learning the basics are far easier than simply attempting to pass a test or earn a decent grade.
