While obtaining my B.S. I tutored through a community development after school program for a year; in which I helped 4th-8th graders with their math and reading homework. For the past 3 years I have worked as a private math and science tutor helping student from 5th grade up through college level. In the Spring of 2011&2012 I worked as an in-school tutor bringing elementary school students up to grade level in math and reading. I come from China and my major is Japanese and culture in Beloit College. My IBT score is 98 and SAT ‘s math is 750. My total SAT score is 1970 when the full score is 2400. I am a graduate accounting student at NIU, emphasizing in the study of taxation. My undergraduate accounting degree is also from NIU. I am currently studying for the CPA exam. I have been a graduate assistant for a taxation course and a managerial accounting course. I have tutored business statistics and financial statement auditing. My teaching style is entirely dependent on who I'm teaching. I try to prod and ask leading questions, while also looking for how it is I can relate the subject matter to the student. I consider it a failure of mine if I am ever forced to recommend a student memorizes something that they ought to understand on a deeper level.
