Experience Summary
I have PhD in theoretical physics, and Post-doctoral expereince in physics education research and applied physics. As a gradaute student I have taught for five years several undergradauate level courses such as college physics, university physics, physics in human affairs and physics for architects. Alongwith teaching courses I have mentored incoming graduate students to physics department and tutored several undergraduate students and helped them in learning physics. Also as a faculty in india I have taught several advanced level courses in physics. I have passion for teaching physics and have developed various concepts tests, simulation based tutorials and logic charts/worksheets to help undergraduates learn physics intearctively.
Teaching Style
Physics is a challenging subject and it requires understanding of concpets, application of mathematics and anlytical reasoning. My style is to help students learn how to catch fish rather feeding them fish. I give emphasis on helping students develop their own reasoning, so that they can become independent learners.I usually explain concpets first and teach them how to apply these concpets for problem solving. Once they are good at understanding concpets, problem solving becomes easy. I have found that student mainly have difficulty learning concepts so i spend good amount of time in making them understand concpets by asking stimulating questions and finding their misconceptions.
