I have taught elementary vocabulary for thirty years in various grades from Kindergarten to sixth grade. Also, I have tutored students in vocabulary skills for over twenty years. I use a combination of both online games and Websites and hands-on manipulatives. First, I like for the student to take multiple intelligence tests and then I know how best to help the student. The information I gain from the analysis is extremely informative. It tells me where the students' strengths lie such as some students are musically inclined, some are visual learners, auditory learners, some are mathematicians and various other styles. Then, the style that they learn through the best is how I would teach the student; this is based on Gardner's Multiple Intelligence. From 14 years of age, I have tutored elementary school students in Reading, English, and most often and successfully, Math. In highschool, I tutored students in Geometry. I have also assisted G.E.D. students in preparations for the Mathematics portion of the test, which covered basic mathematics and Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. I create a learning plan that best suits the student and gives him or her the capacity to confidently understand the material.

I have been studying Elementary Education for the past four years, and Elementary Vocabulary was one of the courses. I worked one-on-one with Elementary Students during my Student Teaching in all Elementary Vocabulary. I have a very Hands-On Teaching Style I have been working with children for the past seven years. Four of those years have included homeschooling pre-school and pre-kindergarten as well as homework help and tutoring the children that I was babysitting. I love tutoring because it allows me to work one-on-one with my students. Tutoring, also, allows me the opportunity to create the ultimate tutoring experience based off of the students learning style and interest.
