My comments on tutoring Spanish : Spanish is my first language. I taught it to High School students in 2009-2010. I'm also a translator, proofreader and editor.

Spanish is my first language and have a passion for it. In 2009 I had the opportunity to teach it to High School students and was a great learning experience. In spring 2011 tutored a young boy, age 9. I also am a translator, proofreader and editor. In 2010 I was in charge of a project to translate a 300 page class manual, which was translated, proofread and edited in a period of 12 months.

Students have described me as a very caring and kind educator. I take the time to explain how and why things are different in foreign languages. In the beginning of the year (or when I get a new student), I take the time out to give the student a quiz that helps determine what learning style they are based off of seven different learning styles. My BA degree was in Speech & Theatre. Who would have known that a shy kid like me would have excelled in public speaking, english, and theatre. I love the English language, even though I've had classes in French and Spanish. I started school when I was 4 years old (too early), and all my grade school years was challanged with education. Now that I am an adult, I feel that I have the experience to help children understand and find it easier to learn English and grammer, sentence writing, composition writing, essays, etc.
Laid back, but encouraging.If a child is struggling, I don't think you should add fear and criticism to the situation. Having had Catholic nuns in all my grammer school days, pretty much put the "fear of God" into me, until I went on to public high school and college. then I was able to relax and embrace english and literature.
