I am currently taking the English as a Secondary Language course at Benedict College so, I can be certified in teaching English across the world. In the summer of 2013 I worked at Lanier Technical College/ University of North Georgia as a ESOL Assistant Instructor. I spent my summer translating English to Spanish natives who wanted to obtain their citizenship. That's when I made my decision to go to school for that field. I have been fluent in Spanish since I was a young child. I indulge in English because its a resource that I have that so many world would die for. My comments on tutoring Spanish : I am in my fifth year at Wingate University. I will graduate in May of 2014 with a minor in Spanish. I have been certified by the CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) as a Level III Spanish tutor. I also work as the Supplemental Instruction Coordinator at the University, working with Spanish professors and their students during the academic year. Upon graduating high school with 2 years of the Spanish language, I placed out of Elementary Spanish at the college level and completed the requirements for my minor with Syntax and Morphology. Overall, I have had a total of 5 semesters of Spanish classes at the university level.

5 semesters of University Spanish courses 2 years of Spanish at the high school level (Basic Spanish) Level III Tutor (certified by the College Reading and Learning Association) Supplemental Instruction Coordinator - I sit in college Spanish courses each day of class and assist the professor in helping students in class. This position also involves holding a one-hour group tutoring session per week. Will graduation with a minor in Spanish in May of 2014 (classes are already completed).
I love to redirect questions rather than just giving answers. By avoiding giving answers students can learn to think on their own, develop critical thinking skills, and improve their learning techniques. I also like to use whiteboards and textbooks to provide visuals, while also using educational 'apps' via Ipad and iphone to engage students.

As a senior at Benedict College obtaining my B.S. in Biology, I have gained a better understanding of the study of biology as well as other science-related subjects and math. I have been a part of the Peer-Tutoring program at Benedict since I was a freshman and have tutored in the subject of Biology.
My main goal is not to tell a student they are wrong, but to tell them how they can make the answer correct.
