My comments on tutoring Pre-Calculus : We have both online and Austin area in-home tutors for math. Each has either a science degree that involved math up to Calculus or higher, or a math Degree. An intellectual and goofy tutor looking to help out.

I don't any paid, professional tutoring experience. However, I have volunteered my services to family members and friends. During my sophomore year, I took Organic Chemistry and excelled. However, my friends were struggling. They hated me a bit for how easy it came to me. I decided to tutor them and help them with homework assignments and studying. They ended up doing very well on the exams, allowing them to secure a 3.0 or higher in the course. I also had to regular help my classmates out with more complex problems in Physics. I was not so much tutoring as working together with them on the homework, but still, it involved clear explanation and a thorough knowledge of the subject matter.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with adults. I prefer a one on one direct instruction and mentoring, keeping everything simple and fun. I am not sure how well I would be with children; I have none of my own and have not spent much time with my nephews and nieces. I graduated from UT Austin with a BS physics and BA mathematics. I still study both subjects independently to be ready for graduate school. I have held a job in both IT and Engineering where I have used my skills to mentor others on these topics. I have spoken spanish since I started speaking and CLEP'd out of Spanish IV at UT Austin with an A to meet the language requirements. I have been playing guitar since 1987. I used to play in a band from 1991 - 1995 and learned to read and write music from when I played the alto saxophone in H.S. marching band.

Initially,I taught "general" physics 1 and 2 lab sections,(those for science majors; excluduing engineering and physics majors).
