I graduated with an M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina in May of 2010. Directly after graduating, I began a career as an Academic Advisor in the Moore School of Business Undergraduate Division at the University of South Carolina. I currently still hold this job. I also taught a University 101 course to 25 incoming freshmen in the Fall of 2010. This course included helping the students get acquainted with resources on campus, learn study/time management strategies, and much more. Also, while in graduate school, I worked about 5-10 hours per week as an Academic Success Coach in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) at the University of South Carolina.

I have always excelled in writing and grammar. While at Duke University, I had a minor in English. I currently work at a large manufacturing company as the copywriter/communications coordinator. I love tutoring and mentoring kids, period. It's spiriturally rewarding to me as an adult to have a part in a child's development. I believe every child is special. There's is no doubt in my mind that if a tutor approach is based on patience, quality time and empathy, he or she will be successful and effective.
