I am a certified tutor with experience in Political Science/American Government. My experience was gained by working with college students (student-athletes and those with documented disabilities). I am also able to tutor History (both World and American History) and the Verbal/Written portion of the GRE test. I teach by using analogy and also by showing where to find the answers. I try very hard not to simply give the answers to the tutee. My thought is that simply giving the answers does not build a lasting base of knowledge.
