My name is McCrae Mower, and I am currently a sophomoere at Minnetonka High School. I have been involved with tutoring for the last two years. I am part of an activity called "Backpack Tutoring." Social Studies and Creative Writing (English)

I like to challenge people to think outside of the box. Although I know it is important to know how to take tests and write papers appropriately, I also know that showing skills that go above and beyond, is what makes a student stand out. I will challenge your mind but in a way that will help to see the bigger picture out of the details, and will also help to shape you into a well-rounded, thoughtful individual.
I am currently a Sociology student at Augsburg College. I am also pursuing a minor in Psychology. This year will be my last, so I will graduate in 2014. Also, I have taken several creative writing courses at the Loft Literary center, as well as at my College. I received a 4.0 in my courses. Since graduating in 1999 from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis with a Masters in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration, I have worked extensively in Accounting Management and administration. I am very knowledgeable in the full-cycle accounting functions necessary to hold a job as an Accounting Manager, Staff Accountant, Accountant, and Bookkeeper. I have learned many Accounting Software packages and can produce and analyze financial statements. I am scheduled to take one section of the CPA exam this month with the goal of taking the other three parts within the next 18 months. A Little Bit About Me...

After I received my degree in Elementary Education, I was a substitute teacher in IA for one year. I then worked, taught and advised at a small private college in Iowa. I have also owned and operated a daycare in my home for over three years. Currently have have spent the past two years as a substitute teacher for the Buffalo, MN school district. This is a job I love for the simple fact that I have variety everyday. It is also a great way to stay up to date on all subject matter. I am also in the process of earning my Master's Degree in Education.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in a teaching style that reflects a student's learning style. Whether they learn best by hearing, seeing, or doing it is important to cater to the student. My teaching style works around this philosphy and tends to be a combination of all 3 styles.
Although I have recently graduated with a degree in business, I am interested in pursuing a career involving people. My previous employment was a sales position that was very customer-oriented.
