Social Studies and Creative Writing (English)

I am currently a Sociology student at Augsburg College. I am also pursuing a minor in Psychology. This year will be my last, so I will graduate in 2014. Also, I have taken several creative writing courses at the Loft Literary center, as well as at my College. I received a 4.0 in my courses. Also, in high school, I was always a level above in all English and composition classes.

I have been teaching for over twenty years, primarily Middle School Language Arts. I have also taught Head Start, fourth grade, third through eighth grade science, and kindergarten through eighth grade music. I earned my Master’s degree in Classroom Education with an emphasis in MS Language Arts. For example I taught a group of Buddhist monks who had never learnt English previously, and who were rejected by other teachers. I began with teaching the monks the alphabet. By the end of the year, these monks exceeded the expectations set out for them. Another example is when two parents who never spoke English, wanted me to tutor their daughter in English.
