I graduated from a Pennsylvania Systems of Higher Education college with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. The entire time I was enrolled I was a tutor in the Math Assistant Center as one of the top tutors. I was always told I should be a teacher but for now I am on a quest to get my PhD. I decided early on in my college experience that I wanted to major in mathematics. I worked hard for four years taking a variety of math classes that ended with my senior seminar project that showed how math can be used to project how deadly a disease can be. I earned my BS in Mathematics with a 3.9 GPA in the spring of 2009. I tutored younger college students for about a year in subjects like Calculus 1 and 2, Trigonometry, PreCalculus, and Algebra.
I love teaching other people and I really get a sense of satisfaction when they are able to understand what I have taught them. I belief that conceptual understanding is the foundation of learning. Teaching kids to solve a specific problem that they can't do doesn't accomplish much, in my opinion. Going back to the concept and helping them really understand what is going on, either physically or mathematically, will not only help them with the problem they have, but give them a basis for future knowledge.

As an active member of Mensa International and someone who's consistently done well in number-related fields, I've come to love teaching what I can understand.
