I tend to prefer lectures combined with textbook assignments as opposed to teaching either using films, powerpoint presentations or computers. I work best with motivated students, even those with lower abilities, though I teach exclusively at the high school level and above. I am patient and one of my greatest assets is in analology; I have a profound ability to take complex ideas and make them simple.

I believe in mentoring. It does take a few times for the student (young and old) to understand that I cannot teach them anything. I can present information to them and attempt to inspire them to learn, but they are the ones who ultimately teach themselves. I have currently worked at the Herkimer ARC for the past eight years. I have alot of experience working with people with disabilites from severe Mental Retardation, Cerebal Palsy,Autism, Learning Disability and Mental Heath. I have obtained a degree from Herkimer College in applied science with a minor in education. I also went to Mohawk Valley Community College for two years to obtain a degree in Nursing. I am a very caring open individual who loves to help people. I am looking for part time employment to start a college fun for my three year old daughter. I have years of experience training new employess at the Herkimer ARC.
I am a hands on teacher. I can verbally explain things and then i like to utilize different techniques to ensure the children understand what i am explaning. I am opening to different teaching styles because each child learns differently.
