My comments on tutoring Political Science : I am certified to teach political science and have provided tutoring in this area in the past.

I went to Penn State University to pursue a degree in social studies education and also to obtain a minor in Spanish. Once I considered teaching Spanish as a potential career option, I studied abroad for a semester in Spain where I lived with a host family, took classes that were taught in Spanish, and I traveled throughout the country. I graduated from Penn State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and minors in history and Spanish and obtained teaching certification in social studies in grades 7-12 in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and in Spanish in Kindergarten through 12th grade. I am in the process of obtaining a teaching certification in the state of Kansas. I have spent the last 4 years teaching Spanish in Pennsylvania and New Jersey to students of all levels from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a youth mentor with YouthFriends, I have worked one-on-one with students in reading and general life skills. I am current enrolled in Rockhurst University's Master in Education program to obtain a degree and elementary teaching certificate. I have completed over 25 graduate course hours that include methods in teaching math and science. I am looking for opportunities to extend what I have learned in the classroom myself to help students.
I am open minded and encouraging. I believe that children each have their own schema and learn in a variety of ways. I encourage students to not only read the assignment and the assigned homework, but to question the validity of the issues being discussed, including what the author has written. By having student examine the issues and using critical thinking, they become better academics, but develop the ability to think outside of the box
