I try to excite my student's interest about a topic before teaching it. It is human nature that we don't want to learn anything that we perceive as useless for the future, so every lesson must be relevant and applicable. Teaching was not something that I sought out to do, but that happened due to paths that I took in life. My first experience came as a graduate student, where I was a TA for an undergraduate level intro media class, where I graded lecture tests, as well as taught a lab section. It was an enjoyable experience, but my interests didn't rest within teaching at the time. However, through my other endeavors in the arts & sciences, I saw how valuable it was for others to have a mentor.
