Study Skills is one of my top subjects! Taught study in skills in the U.S. Navy and have graduate class credits in study skills.

My teaching style is very interactive with the student. The student is provided with the skill and information on the subject and then they explain their knowledge and understanding of that subject. This is either done to fellow classmates in a "student teacher" role or to me.
Accepted to an internship with International Ergonomics Corporation in 1990. Experience in industrial injuries, taught back safety courses, performed Functional Capacity Evaluation, Job Risk Analysis, and Job Placement Testing. Was selected as Physical Therapy Department in the U.S. Navy from 2002 - 2006 were I supervised the treatment and testing of military personnel, and taught back safety/rehab classes and post-surgical class for rehabilitation of the knee. Study Skills is one of my top subjects! I have been working with students at the local community college in a wide variety of classes helping them develop and hone their study skills to fit they way they learn best.

I like to help students find out how they learn best by asking questions and through learning style tests. Everyone doesn't learn in the same way and by finding out the students learning style I like to then taylor how I help them learn based off how they will be able to retain the information best.

While in high school I completed two years in a practicum that put me in a classroom working one on one with students my junior and senior years. I completed my undergraduate degree in Middle School Education with an emphasis in Language Arts. I taught four years of Language Arts and Reading at a small rural school south of St. Joseph, and now I am back in school obtaining my Master's in Reading Education.
