My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I taught ESL to a S. Korean family - 2 children and their mother - for 1 year. This is a tricky skill that requires serious fine-tuning and constant revision!

I love teaching and interacting with today's young kids. They fascinate me. Every child has different learning systems and sometimes it takes several tries to reach that special spot that opens the child's eyes to what excites them about learning. The thrill that I feel when that point is found and theirs, (And my, excitement,)grows. There is no feeling in the world like that!

I teach a hands on curriculum as much as possible. I constantly have visuals, or hands on manipulatives to helps students gain a better understanding. I have a friendly teaching style; I use a lot of sense of humor. But, this takes a lot of hard work to achieve. The reason I am able to teach French grammar in a non-intimidating, almost very relaxing way, is because I had to master it.
