For the time that I spent teaching, my experience included working in a newly established school in Saipan where I was involved with a class that had different age levels, such as third, fourth, seventh and eighth. This allowed me the opportunity to learn to work with various age levels as well as different nationalities. Also, I spent time working for the Las Cruces Public School System in which I was able to labor with teachers who had students with learning disabilities, plus regular elementary age kids. No two students are the same which is why it is so important to have a flexible teaching style. My first lesson is usually spent analyzing a students attention level, skill level, and learning style. Some students learn through repetition, others like lots of different examples, and there are always a few who want to know why and how something works, eg. theory, proofs, and real world applications.
