After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Florida State University, I worked as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County for two years. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Communication at University of South Florida while simultaneously employed at the Department of Special Education. I have been tutoring with Advanced Learners for 1 year and am currently an Adjunct Instructor of Public Speaking at HCC Dale Mabry.
Once while subbing, I entered a classroom where the students had been allowed to watch Jerry Springer on TV for the last two weeks. I couldn't let this continue, but I saw how emotional the class was about the show. I encouraged them to write their own talk show and told them we would perform it the next day. I find that connecting student's interest with the subject matter to be learned is the best way to teach.

My comments on tutoring Spanish : First Language is Spanish. I can teach grammar, language, pronunciation, etc. I have won various Spanish Creative Writing competitions, but can also help with reading and comprehension.

I am a very patient person, but do admire and require people to be respectful in every sense of the word. I do not like sitting in front of the students begging him or her to pay attention. I like having engaged students that do their best to understand or learn. Regarding the music tutoring and teaching, I like having students that do not give up. I know learning a new instrument is hard; I experienced it myself, but the key to learning how to play an instrument is perseverance and practice.
