Desktop Publishing is one of my top subjects! This has been the majority of my professional work for twenty years. I have taught it as well.

I utilize several different teaching strategies and attempt to pull strengths from the youth and work with positives. I give examples and direct youth in the direction of the correct answers. I utilize reading and instructing out loud to the class, writing on the board for further and clearer instructions and information, using real life ideas and situations to help explain the lesson (ex. of using microwave and cooking to help explain temperature and gave reminders at the end of class for work completion, assignments and expectations. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching children takes patience and creativity. Each child is different in their attention span and interests. Making each subject important and interesting is one place to start. It is crucial to never let a child give up, and not to give up on them yourself. My goal in teaching is to determine which way the child learns, for example a visual learning may need to draw out spelling words, where an audible learner needs to recite them. I love to find new ways to relate what they are learning with life outside of school and in this way show them how important the subject is. I do believe that each child can learn, but sometimes not understanding a subject is like building a wall on a road. While earning my bachelor's degree, I worked in several tutoring programs assisting students with reading comprehension and writing composition skills. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always known I have wanted to be a teacher. I do my best to adjust what I am teaching to what my students actually have passion for.
