I am a seasoned adjunct instructor and tutor at the introductory level at a Community College. I have taught a graduate level Chemistry course at a Masters granting College. My education includes a M.S. Polymer Chemistry/Science, B.S. in Biology and 46 Credits of Chemistry . More importantly I have worked as a teaching assistant at a School for Autistic children. I love the give and take of working with high school students. I relish hearing fresh, young opinions and seeing how they decide what they believe in and why. My style entails showing a student the relevance of what he or she is doing. It is important for a child to know WHY what they are supposed to be learning is so important; they need to know how it will help them years from now after the classes are over. I believe learning is about confidence. I have seen numerous students doing poorly in courses because they were convinced that they were not capable of learning the subject matter. Small successes help to build confidence in order to move on to the subsequent challenges.
