I give my students the benefit of the doubt. In the beginning and throughout the school year, I assume that my students are giving me their best. It may not be at grade level, and may be sloppy and hard to read but it's what they can do right now. Then, the hard work begins! A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring my step-son in reading, writing and math for two years. He was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of six so we opted to have a tutor work with him. After two years of outside tutoring, his mother and I decided that I would begin tutoring him. I had his tutor instruct me on his methods and various tools he used for teaching a dyslexic child. I then took over the tutoring and have been tutoring 2-3 times a week ever since. He is now 10 and doing very well in school. I plan to work with him as long as necessary. I also currently volunteer at his school, helping with the 3rd grade Math Club. I prefer to tutor 3rd through 6th grade age children but will consider other school age children.
