I attended Northeastern Illinois University and obtained a B.A. degree in Elementary & Special Education, with honors. My first job, straight out of college was as an Educational Consultant. I trained teacher how to us computers to install educational programs for their students. After four years I was transfered to Florida. I resigned after a year and returned to Chicago. Around the mid 80's I relocated to Puerto Rico and work as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher. After two years I returned to Chicago and work in a respite care unit as a special education teacher. Sign langugage is a visual language and can be taught in various formats. My goal is to match whichever learning style is best to accomodate the specific student.
I am in my second year as a certified/licensed sign language interpreter. I currently interperet at West Aurora High school. I also interpret at many local churchs including weekly Mass or services, religious education or children's church. I interpret for local park districts in the area from theater arts to sport activities.

I believe a great teacher needs to have proper skills and talents for teaching. I learned a lot while growing up from a great teacher; my mother. My mother was a teacher for thirty years teaching elementary grades. I learned a great teacher needs to be respectful, patient and to be able to illustrate the lesson in an easy, simple way.
