Lead the student to find the right answer himself or herself if possible.
I have done private tutoring of high school students in math from pre-algebra to calculus and in other subjects. I have also home schooled adopted daughters from lower grades to high school level, including teaching English as a second language. In graduate school I was a teaching assistant in an electric machinery laboratory for non-electrical engineering majors. While I attended Auburn University and studied civil engineering I found myself enjoying group projects and helping other students get through the difficult curriculum. I needed some extra money my junior year of school and since I was enjoying working with other students I decided to try tutoring freshman and sophomore students in math and physics. I enjoyed it and it was rewarding when the students grasped the lesson at hand and did well on their upcoming tests.
I cannot say that I am set in any teaching style. I am green and haven’t exactly got a teaching style. I know through years of schooling and interacting with peers people learn differently and do better or worse depending on the teacher they have and that teachers style.
