I was the type of person back in school who could never focus on anything in school,and one year I had to go to summer school.There I met a teacher who changed learning for me completely.I learned thing that i struggled to learn for years in just a couple months.It was amazing.From then on i remembered his teached ways and swore I would become a teacher or even a tutor and teach the same way he did,to help others learn and feel accomplished like I did.

A Little Bit About Me...

My love of mathematics began while I was in elementary school--I looked forward to those classes and took as many as I could from my high school, Wyoming Area. I had, at one point in middle school, helped to tutor some students in one of my classes. While in college at Susquehanna University, I had the priveledge of tutoring pre-calculus to local Selinsgrove High School students. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to share my passion for math with others. I believe anyone can comprehend math if given the right tools--learning math is like building a pyramid, you need the base to get to the top, and that is what I try to do, help these students grasp a solid base understanding of the topic. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Susquehanna University and an Elementary Teaching Certificate from Bucknell University. Most recently I was an educational liaison in an alternative classroom in the Pocono Mountain School District. I worked for a technology company providing online curriculum for the students. While in the classroom, I tutored the students in all subject areas where they had difficulty, but specifically concentrating on tutoring the math courses. I believe that everyone is teachable, if the student has the desire and the teacher has the commitment. I tend to be a patient teacher, with high standards.
