A Little Bit About Me...

I was the type of person back in school who could never focus on anything in school,and one year I had to go to summer school.There I met a teacher who changed learning for me completely.I learned thing that i struggled to learn for years in just a couple months.It was amazing.From then on i remembered his teached ways and swore I would become a teacher or even a tutor and teach the same way he did,to help others learn and feel accomplished like I did.
I like a fun teaching style,yet one that makes sure that the student's lessons stick in their head.

Spanish and History Major

I taught Pre-K for 1 year and Kindergarten for 1 year as well. The experience was wonderful and I enjoyed lesson planning, making props, teaching the children new things based on different themes and subjects. I am not a professional teacher, but I played one in newsrooms at several newspapers. During a span of 20 years as reporter, sports writer, copy editor, section editor and editor-in-chief, I trained many new hires -- and even a few veterans -- in spelling, grammar, punctuation, comprehension of written material and in writing. I did not take graduate classes, but I did take the Graduate Record Exam. I scored in the upper 15% in both Verbal and Essay. I do not consider myself a classically trained scholar or academic. My knowledge comes from practical experience and in knowing study approaches in advance of taking standardized test.
