I received my training from Cedarville University, Wright State University, Plymouth State College and Keene State College. I received my BA from Cedarville University in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Special Education. I completed more training through a teacher mentor program through Plymouth State College to gain my Special Education certification in NH. I took 9 credits towards my masters at Keene State in the area of Special Education. I taught for 6 years in a rural school in NH, where I was a self-contained special ed. teacher for 4 years and a 4th grade teacher for 2 years. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is one of friendly leadership. Working through problems or lessons with the student by leading them through it, then working it with them side by side while explaining the details helps them achieve the accomplishment of learning without making them feel as if they were just instructed how to do it. Helping a student learn is more than just teaching them a lesson in math, science, or English; it’s about being someone that they can look up to as a role model, being someone that they can learn from in more than just an academic manner, and being someone who is there for them when they need something. Personally, I think students of all ages and academic levels need to be coached and pushed to achieve their full potential.

Throughout my scholastic career I have always been a focused and driven student. While at Elder, I was a Spanish and science tutor, graduated in the top four percent of my class, and received the distinction of "National Hispanic Scholar." Also, during the summers, I volunteered at Children's Hospital, monitoring play-rooms and working with children of all ages. I have always believed everyone can learn and everyone has different learning styles. Finding what works for the student is often the key to life-long success. I have a great connection with students and am always a believer they can be successful. Patience, motivation and desire are essential to success.
I have experience in every level of student. My first degree (A.S.) was in Engineering and I worked at higher level math, including a college Teacher's Assistant in Calculus. I went on to obtain a B.S. in Education. I took the coursework for Middle and High School endorsements in 4 other subject areas. I work in Remedial Education at a local university currently.
