To be a lifeguard, one must first learn to swim, then learn different techniques, then continue to refine those techniques to build up stamina and speed. The same is true of mathematics. First one learns number sense, then algebra skills, then a deeper understanding through practice, as well as new and more challenging problems. Although I do not have paid experience teaching regular school subjects, I have extensive experience teaching skill to all age level learners in a gym/pool setting. I taught swim lessons and exercise classes for nearly 20 years, and taught weight lifting techniques/sports conditioning for 2 years. i am also active in teaching at church and work with my own children as well as their friends in completing school projects.
