A Little Bit About Me...

My style of teaching is clear pictorial style. I try to teach concept through a visual way, using shapes, graphs, drawings,etc. I try to teach by example as well. I will try to give examples of how a problem is solve if a person needs it.

I have tutored privately various students at the college level for short terms in elementary physics(<200 level), chemistry(<400 level), mathematics(<500 level), and biology(<300 level). I have also tutored part time in English and SAT preperation for nearly a year (<12 hours a week) with certified tutoring services, a small company here in Honolulu. My teaching experience includes teaching Kindergarden and second grade in Guam, than I taught 4 years for the Department of Defense in Germany. I now live in Hawaii and have taught for the Department of Education Special Education, and English As A Second Language with Adult Eeducation. I have my own private tutoring students and teach them reading, writing, grammar, social studies, math etc. I also tutor for the home hospitalization program for the Department of Education.
Special Education classes, working with the student's IEP, one on one tutoring working with multi-sensory learning, and focusing on the student's educational goals. When I was a freshman in college, I knew that my future was in my hands. I befriended and contacted my chemistry professor and zoology advisor. I worked in both of their labs, and I was only a freshman! By studying in their research groups, I gained the experience necessary to intern at Sea Life Park Hawaii. In fact, I was published in 2007 after working for Dr. Charlie Cox in the Chemistry Department. Recognizing the need for more hands-on research experience, I found another opportunity with another professor in cellular biology. I have been a teaching assistant for six semesters at University of Hawaii at Manoa where I earned my Ph.D. in Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering, and have taught a variety of writing intensive biology and microbiology labs.
