I believe learning is a two-way process. It needs to start with a student who has a true desire to learn and then, of course, the teacher needs to have a true desire to bring about the learning. A successful combination will result in mastering of concepts and development of skills as opposed to simply reciting facts. I believe students will more readily learn if the subject matter is made relevant to the world they live in. With the fast pace of technology development it needs to be stressed that learning is a life-long endeavor. Over the course of my education, I have developed a strong understanding of math and science courses. In addition, I have a passion for the arts, psychology and management. Attending both a community college as well as a large 4-year institute has exposed me to a variety of teaching styles. Through this I have learned effective ways to explain and work through different learning styles.
