Different students have different 'keys' to learning. I utilize a flexible approach which seeks to 'unlock' the potential in each individual student.

No drudgery!

Student-led and interactive. No lectures. No drudgery. I focus on the process of solving problems. Restate the question. Draw diagrams. Figure out what information is missing. How can I get that information? Can it be calculated or is an estimate good enough? What sources are reliable?
I solve problems. I am a bioanalytical chemist and biomedical engineer. This profession requires using math, statistics, biology and chemistry at a high level on a daily basis as I develop products that improve healthcare. I began my work, with youth, in 1983 when I worked with incarcerated youth at the Highland Youth Center in upstate NY. I later taught high school social studies at Mount Vernon, HS in Mount Vernon, NY where I also tutored after school. I eventually traveled to Benin, West Africa where I taught at a local British School and taught and tutored at the American Language Center. I have experience teaching diverse populations.
