From October 2002 thru May 2011, I worked in the Duval School Board School System (Jacksonville, Florida) as a Substitute Teacher. I subbed in several elementary schools teaching students in Grades 1-5 in the areas of Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts. I direct the student by asking questions and encouraging them to develop an understanding of why they are applying a certain method to solve a particular math problem. I use demonstrations to enable the student to visualize the math concept and relate it to their physical world and to experience its practical application in daily life.
