Confidence creates an interest in learning

I adapt to the students abilities and preferences. The main issue facing all students is building confidence. Confidence creates interest in learning.
Substitute Teaching from 03/15/2011 to present Chess Instructor from 12/17/2003 to 04/30/2004 Tutor for Western Michigan University 09/15/1997-04/30/2000. I have taught students ranging fro pre-school to 12th grade and also tutored at the unversity level. I feel most confident with students ranging from 3rd to 6th grade and at the college level or older. My main strengths are an ability to adapt to students with special needs and recognize that a lack of interest or focus is often the result of a lack of confidence. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a deep passion for learning, and it's always my goal not only to help students learn skills but to find their inner motivation too. I currently work as a substitute teacher, and I appreciate the chance I have to see the best of what teachers and paraprofessionals are using in the classroom and how they help their students. I have much experience students of all ages with their homework and projects as a nanny, babysitter, and older sister of four. I was also a certified therapeutic riding instructor, so I taught individuals with disabilities to ride horses. I was a top student myself, and I have a B.A. in English with a minor in history. I attended graduate school for writing and editing. I currently work for an equestrian travel television show, writing and editing quality articles for the website.

I became a substitute Teacher in 2000, in which I have taught grades K-12th. I currently substitute in the Flint Community Schools and in the Genesee Intermediate School districts. As a group leader in the after school program, I assist with homework help in all subjects. My experience include teaching all subjects in elementary through high school, where my favorite subjects are mathematics and language arts.
