Since high school, my passion for telling stories led me to my degree in Journalism. I worked as a professional news reporter for two medium market stations and was on my way to work for a larger market. My career took a turn for the better and I found my calling was education. I have always coached and been a choreographer, so working with children and helping them succeed was also a passion. Prior to my relocation to the Jacksonville, Florida area I had completed my undergraduate degree and was working toward my Masters in Education for Middle School. During this period, I interned at a middle school and had worked as a substitute teacher. I have also worked in management and training.

I like to teach using everyday life experiences and things that are relative to the tutee. One can read MacBeth and other writers from the past and still be motivated to learn. I don't believe in memorization because that is not learning. I want the child to carry his newly learned knowledge well into his future and always have it available in the back of his mind. It should not be forgotten but built upon. It's like building a brick wall, one brick at a time. It does take time but when that final brick is put in place, what a masterpiece!
As a graduate of Jacksonville University, I feel I received an excellent education and want to give back to the community.
