My teaching style incorporates all learning styles, because I am a firm believer that we all learn differently. I am a very patient and passionate teacher. I graduated from Jefferson High School in the spring of 2012. I now attend Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne. I have two younger siblings and 4 younger step-siblings that I have helped with their homework, or helped them better understand material assigned to them. Their ages range from 8-17. I know how to explain certain subjects in multiple ways to ensure that eventually the student will understand the material. I am very patient, and I understand that some people learn at slower rates than others. I am majoring in nursing, though I considered teaching English before making this decision. In my senior year of high school, I realized how much I enjoyed teaching and helping others with school work when I co-taught the AP Psychology class at my school with the head psychology teacher. After high school, I went onto college at Purdue University, where I studied psychology and minored in statistics. I have a very wide-ranging course history, including a number of graduate courses. After school, I was recruited to work at a camp, where I had my first experience with such large numbers of adolescents. My public speaking class is extremely participatory, both so students can gain experience speaking in front of an audience and because this format seems to keep students more interested in the material. My experience teaching children in theatre was also very participatory. I believe that students learn best when they can understand a given concept from several different angles.
