My experiences as the oldest of seven children instilled in me the desire to educate others, so I obtained my BS degree in Biology and Secondary Education. I taught 7th and 8th grade sciences for five years before staying home to be a full time mother and substitute teaching on the high school level for 3 more years. My style tends to range based on who I am trying to teach, and I suppose is most accurately labeled as adaptive. I understand that different people learn things in different ways, and so I try to accommodate that with my teaching. For instance if I found that a student learns better visually then I would attempt to use visual cues and examples in lesson plans to make the material as easy to understand as possible. The subject that students need the most help with is math. I have noticed the differences in difficulty when trying grasp mathematical concepts and have found ways to somewhat cater to their specific trouble areas. It is very important to give lots of examples and practice problems.
