I am an active teacher. I want students to understand the subject in the context of their own lives as opposed to just learning definitions. If they can realate the information to an actual happening, they are more likely to remember. In terms of test preparation, aside from learning the information it is important to work on test-taking skills (relaxation, focus, etc.). Being prepared for such large tests is more than just knowing, it is recalling under pressure. I work with all of that to help the student.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent CSU-Pueblo graduate with a mathematics major and a double minor in both physics and economics, I feel I have plenty of education for this position. While never having been paid by an actual tutoring service, I have helped friends and other students through challenging courses ranging from algebra to calculus and even statistics for a very reasonable fee.
I’ve never bought into the argument that some kids just can’t do math. There is plenty of truth that some learn math much quicker and easier than others, but with a good work ethic and plenty of encouragement all kids are capable of learning these sciences. As a Black African American I am driven to see that there are more diversity in the accounting and education field. Right now the number of minority students that are actively seeking degrees in this field are limited and I would like to be a positve influence in the field to get more students in the minority race to get involved. I have earned a degree with my BS in Business Administration Economics
My teaching style is to follow a lesson plan and to stick to it for the whole year. My teaching has been more of the variety of tutoring students and helping them with their lesson plans. I enjoy working with children of all ages and have a way of relating to them and getting the most of them and getting them to achieve their potential.
