My approach to teaching will be using real life problems. I believe that if you can understand the problem in a real life situations then you can apply it. Depending on the age I will make sure and teach on that level. I will plan lessons before meeting, so I can have the best understand of the subject. It is my goal to teach and see others learn.
I have worked with children from pre-k through 6th grade. I am a full time student at UTSA, so I believe these challenging classes will help me be able to help you get a clear understanding. I have tutored many students when I was in high school. I have also taught young children for the past four years.

Over one year's experience tutoring writing at the college level. 8 months as a peer tutor at College of the Mainland, and 3 months self-employed. A variety of subjects covered using MLA and APA writing styles. Students that were helped ranged from collegiate high school to returning adult students. Creative and technical writing also covered.

I tend to be really flexible and try to adapt my teaching style to the learning style of the student. For students who tend to be more tactile, I might have them handle apples if a math problem references apples. If a student is working on a writing assignment, I will offer suggestions (such as marking spelling/grammar/punction mistakes) and help them learn how to correct the errors so they won't continue to make the same errors in the future.
