My classes are by no means easy, I prepare my students for life, even if that means having students leave my class with “their head hurting” because they had to think too much. I believe my ultimate philosophy has been that learning should hurt a little bit. If the classroom environment is not provocative, controversial, and challenging, I think the teacher has fallen short of his or her task. My approach to teaching will be using real life problems. I believe that if you can understand the problem in a real life situations then you can apply it. UT-SAN ANTONIO STUDENT WITH DIVERSE SKILL SET

I tend to be really flexible and try to adapt my teaching style to the learning style of the student. For students who tend to be more tactile, I might have them handle apples if a math problem references apples. If a student is working on a writing assignment, I will offer suggestions (such as marking spelling/grammar/punction mistakes) and help them learn how to correct the errors so they won't continue to make the same errors in the future.
