In teaching, one must realize that students learn at different rates of speed. Consequently, you need to find a pace at which the student feels comfortable. As most of my experience and interest is in mathematics, I always want to see a student be able to solve problems on their own. It's a great feeling when a student overcomes a hurdle and they realize that they can get the right answer.
In my year of graduate school I accepted a position as a teaching assistant. It was my first opportunity to stand in front of a class. It was a very rewarding experience to be able to teach and also help people in subject areas of which you have great expertise and interest. More recently, I have had vast experience working with middle-school students and am currently doing in-home tutoring. I continue to enjoy working with all types of students, especially in mathematics.

In high school, I served as a tutor for elementary school students for the state program Ohio Reads. At the University of Pittsburgh, I earned a BA in English Writing with minors in Chemistry and Studio Art. I have extensive experience in technical and laboratory writing, critical analysis, critiques and creative writing from related college coursework. I frequently aided fellow classmates and students in improving their writing independently. I have extensive experience working with the internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
