A Little Bit About Me...

Working with children has always been my passion. I feel as though it is important to engage all different types of learners and to make them feel as if the classroom is a place where everyone is safe and included. I have worked extensively in the past with children that have Autism. I believe that all children, despite any disability, are capable of being successful students as long as they are given the right tools and the support that is necessary.
Coming from a family of teachers, the importance of education has always been stressed to me. The emphasis was placed not only on succeeding academically, but also to gain a true understanding of the subject matter. My style is to take the subject matter and make it understandable and tangible to the student the best way possible, through the student's learning style. My matter-of-fact approach to lessons allows for getting the most out of the time allotted, while instilling the joy and magic that music brings to the world. In the end, my goal is to help the student discover a life long creative outlet in their music, whether it be a hobby or career.
Have played flute for 30 years. Studied under Aubrie Dionne privately. Performed in Ms. Dionne's flute choir's at the Bell Center for the Arts and the Manchester Community Music School.
