Russian is my native language. Although I was born in Belarus, one of the republics of the USSR, all my family was speaking Russian. Russian was main state language in the USSR. All people who was given rise in any republic of the Soviet Union spoke Russian because all institutions, government offices, banks, stores, schools, colleges, hospitals, etc. were Russian speaking.
