I attended Thomas More College on an academic scholarship and graduated with honors in the spring of 2011 with a BA in Environmental Science. Presently, I am pursuing a Master of Biology degree at the University of Cincinnati, where I hold a University Graduate Scholarship as well as a Yates Scholarship. I worked as a private tutor from 2006 through 2011, and in 2008 and 2009 I also tutored through Thomas More College. I personally believe all children have the ability to be taught how to learn using a variety of methods from whole language to modified versions of other methods such as phonics for Reading instruction. Many children with different learning styles also have the need to use creativity as well as a wide-variety of various multi-sensory approaches. When I substitute for a teacher, I want to see a lesson plan. I do not want to be the classroom babysitter. If there is no plan for the day I involve the students in making one.
