I have worked with elementary, high school, and college-aged students, providing instruction in subjects ranging from English to biology. I am comfortable teaching a group, but I also have ample experience working one-on-one with students. I believe that course material should engage students. Biology is one of my top subjects! I received my Masters in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Taught two sections of an Introductory Biology Laboratory and was a Teaching Assistant in Cellular Biology.

I tailor my teaching to the needs of my students. I like using their textbooks and assigning problems to do from the book since that will be material most likely tested. I also go over their homework assignments given by the instructor and can make up problems if the student requires the extra practice.

If this wasn't complete enough, I would allow the student to use some of the learning CD's I have on the subjects that are also problem driven. If the student is having trouble understanding concepts then I would try to create analogies relative to the student's environment.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a recent Bachelor's in Accounting, as well as 15+ years of accounting experience in both private and non-profit settings. While working at Thornhill Education Center, I had the opportunity to work with students and help teach GED classes. My main focus was math. I also had the opportunity to teach a level 1 accounting class for community education.
I don't think I have really developed a "unique style" by only teaching a year or so. I am a very patient person and I really like to see the "sparkle" in a students eye, when they truly understand something for the 1st time.
